This was the result of a challenge at Arcanum Cafe for use of specific words in a poem, in order given.... I WRITE TO SING OF THE GIFT OF YOUR LOVE I write to sing of the gift of your love. Like a fist full of candy you leave a sweet taste in my mouth. In the winter calm of snowy silence, your voice is as musical as the distant sleigh bells. With you here beside me I can face the winter, fearless, sinking my roots deep in frozen ground. Our joy is the offspring of gentleness and caring, your love settles around me like snowflakes that lace my window. I write to sing of the gift of your love. ------------------ "We read and write poetry because we are members of the human race. And the human race is filled with passion.....the powerful play goes on and you may contribute a verse. What will your verse be?" --John Keating, Dead Poets Society |
