Grandpa no no ( A villanelle )

Grandpas' no no, always in a salvo,
My grandchildren, remember me, this bray.
Ergo, and apropos, Grandpa no no.

I'm not simpatico to their gusto
And so their attitudes always gave way,
Grandpas' no no, always in a salvo.

These three amigos, do a fandango,
In my home, an incredible display,
Ergo, and apropos, Grandpa no no.

Aglow my house, to them a Disney show
And my say of no, a challenge to obey,
Grandpas' no no, always in a salvo.

The imbroglio is, I love them so,
My voice hangs mistletoe, with them touche.
Ergo, and apropos, Grandpa no no.

Soon they will grow and these days will go,
Will they remember my no resume?
Grandpas' no no, always in a salvo,
Ergo, and apropos, Grandpa no no.

Seymour, I liked this poem, but I dont see any difference between it and mine except for a bit of repetitiveness of the first line....is there a certain pattern to it?

A lighter version of a Villanelle..most I've seen are dark. Good job!! Challenge well met!

Systematic Decay,
The Villenalle consists of five tercets and a quatrain in which the first and third lines
of the opening tercets recur alternately at the end of the other tercets and together as the last two lines of the quatrain. I hope this helps you. If not study one of the other villenalles and see how they repeated the lines.

Seymour....a delightful read. My second look at a villanelle but I see the pattern to follow. The humor in it was a nice touch. Very nice job.

Praise from you is praise indeed. Since I think so highly of your work.
