Slow down

Slow down and think on what I say
Or it will fly away.
Slow down and feel the words at play
Or they will drift away.

You hold the present in your hand
The past has flown and gone.
The future has no life or stand
It waits next moments dawn.

Just feel the presence of the day
Hear the music all around.
It's there to hear in every way
From the sky and the ground.

It's in the wind each moving breeze
It sounds just like a fife.
It plays the limbs of swaying trees
It is the sound of life

Slow down and hear your life at stay
Or it will drift away.

I think this parallels with trying to write poetry too...Nice work.

This is wonderful Sy. I don't know if it was in your area, but on PBS last night w/Bill Moyer there was a wonderful presentation of "Fooling with Words", a two hour show re: poetry. I only caught the first part of it, but will be watching for it again, as it will be well worth it. Because of that show, I'm now looking at the poems herein with a more "tonal" format.

Good work!

Thank you Suthern, I always enjoy your comments.
Sunshine, I think I saw part of that program
I'm sure it will be repeated. Thank you for the read and nice words.
