The jutting cliffs above the sea
The velvet sands along the shore
Are calling me...they beckon me
To come again, to come once more.

The graceful gulls that soar above
The salty spray, the lapping tide
It's all that I've been dreaming of
...To see again my fair seaside.

The gentle rhythm of your waves
Your vast expanse...it humbles me
Your majesty...my heart enslaves
Yes...I'll come once more to the sea.

The velvet sands along the shore
The jutting cliffs above the sea
Are calling me to come once more
They're calling still; they beckon me.

OK, Paul, done!

Thank you, Alwye, for reading and commenting. This is my most favorite spot in the whole wide world! I'd live there if I could!
Ahhh...wouldn't it be lovely to walk along the shore every morning? Well, I can dream!

I do live there, well about a mile up the hill from the water, but I think you have captured it beautifully. Given a real opportunity I would not live anywhere else in the world! Tried it once or twice, shriveled up from lack of salt air! LOL Thanks for sharing your beautiful poem.

This inspires me to find a small piece of shore to call my own. I understand the wonder of the sea and the call it has. Wonderfully done.

Oh God Denise, we have kindred hearts when it comes to the maiden of the sea.
I love her as much as you do. You description of her was like a song. Thanks so much for the reminder of the place I love most in the world!!!!!....:..

I like this poem too but have one teeny, tiny suggestion:that would be the ommision of the last "still" in the last line.To me,otherwise, the flow is so perfect.

Beautiful, Denise. You've written several along this line and I can say that one of the true wonders of the sea is you yourself.
