My Heart is Smudged Gray |

You kissed me with sweet lips but I found the kiss false and filthy. You touched me gently but with no intention to hold. You spoke beautiful words, but they were hollow and deceiving. Now my heart is smudged gray against snowy purity. I'm a cheap, used whore, a lost penny, a forgotten childhood toy, only I was never real, never had worth, was never important in your eyes however much I wanted to be. And now I sit silently and stare at the world, as through different eyes, tear-stained and bleary. I see cold reality, sad and angry. Where are the dreams of childhood? My wish on a star? The happily ever after? Is it gone? Was it ever really there? |

Very sad. The pain is screaming in this. Very well done. ------------------ Denise |

The questions asked by a broken heart. There is always hope. Without hope there is a miserable death. Without pain how can we know love? |

love is sometimes very painful..but we must leave ourselves open and vulnerable or we will never experience its joys. I could tell this was quite heartfelt and genuine :-) |

This is a very beauiful, and saddening poem. I can relate to it so well. I was invovled with a guy and he would whisper sweet words to me, kiss me, and make promises to me, but he only got what he wanted from me, then pushed me away. He never had an intentions on holding on. ------------------ "I Believe we are divine by nature." -Jewel |
