Your whispered words lie haunting in my mind
As I awake with you no longer near
In silence we shared our last goodnight
And our parting time is finally here

No scenes of remorse no lovers quarrel
Just an emptiness known as alone
We loved beyond words to the very end
And you followed a path I wasn’t shown

You journey now beyond the stars
To a place as beautiful as you
My memories of the life we shared
Will help to get me through

Goodbye my love our life was rich
70 years is so long to share
Find a place to keep a light
For soon I will meet you there.

Az!! Missed you my friend and though this verse is worth the wait, I wish you were around more. I miss you much.

I'm quite emotional after reading this. That's exactly what I think poetry should do...stir emotions.

I'll look out for more of your poetry now!
