The innocent one

I want to be
the innocent
without a single
care.
To be so young
and only see
lifes simple wishes
flare.
Across from me
I see in you
no shame, no hate,
or cares.
But yet I am
the age of you
your innocence
you share.
I see the spread
between us
and it hits me
deep inside.
I never really realized
the feelings
that I hide.
I am your age,
I look the same,
but deep inside
we know.
I've lived ten times
the life you've led,
I wish it did'nt show.
