Imaginative passion fights ennui.
No vision is worth the loss of passion.

To follow dreams is to live in the past.
Heartache descends on those who walk that path.
Emotional loss will dim that desire.

Poetic license is always a trap.
Unconcern and apathy buries you.
Reason stretches your limits much too far.
Sadly, after dreams man always reaches.
Unforgiving pain is your guru.
Interest outlasts ability, say I.
Truth be told, happiness defies pursuit.

Order always falls before Chaos too.
Flouting one's talent will put people off.

Happiness is a perversion of truth.
All lost chances lead to hysteria.
Perhaps joy itself is too hard to keep.
Painful deceits cause tears that will not stop.
Incessant lies carry no alibi.
Never trust those who refuse to sadden.
Envious lust haunts those you disparage.
Sorrow rewards those who forget their loves.
Sadly there are those who chase happiness.

And free verse as well!
Amazing friend, you have truly done a wonder here!
"Unconcern and apathy buries you."

Too sad, too true.

Marvelously well captured!

Exquisitely done, Dream
Love the last line...although I stand guilty.

And so, being young and dipt in folly
I fell in love with melancholy,
But dreams - of those who dream as I,
Aspiringly, are damned, and die:

Double Damn!
Again!
At the same poem, I am bewildered twice!
Amazing.
