Where blue skies meet blue ocean

How is it that I can share
My inner soul and all its tears
With total strangers I've never met
But have felt I've known for years?

How am I able to write it down
And let the words begin to flow
To expose myself and all my pain
And share with people I don't know?

What makes me believe they can care
Or that they will even understand?
Not a one of them can I touch
When I long to hold someone's hand

What makes me think as I share it all
They can feel or sense my need
When the only bond we ever share
Are my thoughts that they may read?

My words are mine, they say it all
They are the window to my soul
And every one who reads one line
Knows how words make me feel whole

With this place I now call home
And friends I only know by name
My life now feels more complete
And it will never be the same

Deb,
I share your thoughts, but isn't it a
blessing.
Although you can't feel our touch,
know that you are in our thoughts very much.
We hope you stay till your old and gray,
telling us in prose about your day.
I wish for this to stay on top,
and your work may never stop.

Great poem Deb! Before there was the internet, before even the telephone, there were letters. People exchanged ideas and lives and pains and sorrows through the written word (snail mail we call it now!). I like to think that Passions is more than just a connection via an ISP line...it's more like those old pen pal letters sent out with a stamp and a hope that the reader will respond. It's a connection to each others heart and soul through the written word and just because it's electronic doesn't mean it's not a personal connection. Poets and poetry lovers are united here to share each others world and if you feel we've become friends because of that, I think it's wonderful.

I don't know if you've reached out via e-mail or ICQ to anyone here. If not, I recommend it. It's a great way to talk to people! Now, I'll stop rambling and move on. Thanks!

Some people come into our lives and quickly go. Some stay for awhile and leave footprints in our heart and we are never ever the same.

Thank you all for leaving footprints!!
