I've made some minor adaptations to this poem I wrote for Toe's birthday... (yeah, I know... some people actually BUY gifts! LOL.) and though it doesn't adequately describe my admiration for the man, it's a start! *G*

Talented treasure, tantalizing tease,
Thrusts and parries poems with ease,
Thief of my soul, on humor you thrive,
Tongue-fu master, best tush alive!
Terrific teacher, tavern visitor with flair,
Tarnisher of halos extraordinaire.
True and trustworthy, thoroughbred treat,
This tribute give thanks for a friend you cant beat!

Obedient one and only offers her own
Outstanding overachiever this little ode.
Observant, outrageous, always ornamental,
Occasionally offensive, often sentimental -
Ovations abound for your oral techniques.
Optical oasis, you’re a man at his peak.
Occupant of my heart, other half of my soul,
Only one could ever make me whole.

Energetic elegance, enemy of evil
Easygoing educator, earnest and ethical
Exultant eminence of epicurean delights
Enriches our ensemble, endeavors to enlighten
Envy of many, entertaining to all
Exemplary excellence, an emblem to extol
Eloquent, elusive, esteemed escort
Each day that passes, I’m enchanted more.

Rebuked rascal, a ravishing ray,
Roguish and rousing, sometimes risque’.
Revels in laughter, rambunctious reprobate,
Remarkable, responsive, altogether first rate.
Rare and romantic, revered, ready with rhyme,
Resplendent Renaissance man for all time.
Resourceful, reliable, held in highest regard,
Rescuer and refuge, life’s greatest reward.

Anguished angel agonizes still,
Avoids absolving yourself, perhaps always will.
Affectionate attitude we certainly appreciate,
Adamant advocate, accomplished athlete,
Attractive, audacious, aficionado of ale,
Admirers attempt your achievements to no avail.
Amusing, amazing, makes the ladies hearts flutter.
Adorable answer to a prayer unuttered.

Gallant gentleman, generous and good,
Garrulous Galahad, frequently misunderstood.
Gracious and graphic, gregarious gem,
Guffaws of gaiety are given at your whim.
Grand Dad not anxious to be a granddad,
Good-looking, giant-hearted, the best to be had.
God’s greatest gift, glorious to behold.
Gladdens my heart, genuine gold.

Wonderful work, suthern.
Even balladeer would be proud.

Suthern,
A masterful tribute, one that would make anyone blush. I'll be watching for his reaction from under the underbrush.

Lovey: You and your illegal dittos! LOL.

Michael: Such words from a you mean a lot!

Seymour & Pepper & WhtDove: Well... except for a few minor tweakings, he has seen it before. *G* And his comment then was that I should be very glad Rainbow had given him a name like Toerag! LOL. And since he'd gone by Buzz prior to that renaming, I had to agree! *G*

Thank you all for your kind comments!

Bush?....Did someone say I could go hide under or get into a bush?.....LOL.....Blush, someone say I'd blush?....Yep...blushing, humbled, and to say the least, appreciative....I can't really say that all of this is true, but it's a delight to receive, such compliments from you. For those that don't know Suthern, she's a lady refined, her intelligence and class are one of a kind. She's humble and sweet, beyond compare, you'll find no finer person, if ya search everywhere. My life's been a turmoil, One heartbreak to another, Suthern knows me better, than any other. I wish I could live my life over, I'd do things differently, but she's always been there, with any or all needs. I've gained fame and fortune, I'm blessed with much wealth, not just financially, but with friends that have felt,
my needs and my worries, that I couldn't have made it without. I've done so many things, that I'm ashamed of, but I've gained so many friends, that have shown me their love. I said once before, my son's my best friend, but Suthern's right there at second, but she does seem to tend, to make me a "hero", and that I am not, but I am better looking, than Balladeer or Andrew Scott...(LOL). But take me for once, quite seriously, get to know Suthern, she's a fine lady indeed!

Thank you, Sunshine! And Lor... keep hoping! *G*

And Toe... you just be careful which bushes you're playing in! LOL. Thanks, sweetie... I don't mind admitting that you're a hero in my eyes... I've never met a finer human being... and being your friend is the highest honor I could ever hope for!

Suthern

The Inn of Friendship lights the way
along life's winding path
The door stands ever open
as the fire burns in the hearth
The lamp gives forth a glow
of welcome where the long road ends
Who would fear the the darkness
in the company of friends
And be it night or be it day
within your heart we'll find
Bread of comfort, wine of joy
good fare for heart and mind!

sorry, I did mean to post this earlier but it loses nothing in its lateness..

Rainbow: That's lovely... how I wish we could give our friends bread of comfort and wine of joy... and partake ourselves!!

Toerag: And you distracted me with the bush comments *G*... so I forgot to mention how much I loved your poetic response. *G* (That's my story and I'm stickin' to it! LOL)

Aha! I knew it! Even though you've done your best to hide your feelings for old Toe over the months, I was sure you had admiration for him and I was right! I certainly don't know him as well as you, else I wouldn't feel right picking on him like I do, but I do know this. They say a man can be judged by the company he keeps. That being the case, Toe must be one helluva guy to have someone like you in his corner. Great poem, great job, any anyone would be blessed indeed to have you for a friend.

p.s. I especially like the line about he's the best to be had. I've found that to be true many times! hehe

p.p.s.s. Can I continue my trip now?

JTF: But who gets what? LOL. You'd better not be planning on smooching Toe... my baseball bat is right here handy! *G*

Balladeer: Subtle, I'm not! LOL. Thank you very much for those kind words sir (even if you can't resist picking on sweet Toe... ya ole meanie! LOL) Carry on with your trip if you must... but hurry back!
