You once were mine , our love was true
like a rose kissed by the dew.

Just what went wrong, I cannot say
But another one took you away.

Although it hurts, I wonder why
A love so sweet just had to die.

I must move on though filled with grief
to sit and cry brings no relief.

It hurts so bad to feel this way
I'll hide my tears and walk away.

And tell myself, You've got to try
but I can't tell my love Goodbye.

Poignant and moving in its simplicity.
Bravo and welcome!

Well written, I especially liked "like
a rose kissed by the dew;"
