Find the moral of this story... They wandered down the road of grief Ignoring answers and advice BOTH low and equal in His eyes Two sinners, a hangman and a thief It seemed THE HANGMAN had control He was in power and relaxed He made the thief carry his bags AND only thirst bothered his soul THE THIEF could not refuse this task Although he knew it wasn’t right He ALWAYS feared those with more might And thus he wore his happy mask The hangman’s craving grew with time ‘Twas not a problem for the thief He HAD a bottle up his sleeve He quenched his thirst with wine THE scorching sun left its effects The BURNDEN of fatigue and thirst Made each one think that he was cursed Soon, neither one could feel his legs And both fell down, short OF breath Upon the soft, yet burning sand And neither one could understand Exactly what had brought them death The moral is not hard to find They lost themselves inside their strife And IGNORANCE cost them their life Their egotism had made them blind ------------------ I fell in love and kept on falling [This message has been edited by Master (edited 09-03-99).] |

Don't you hate it when no one replies? I actually liked this piece. The format you choose was an interesting one but you made your moral far too easy. Ignorance is definately a burden and one a lot of people can't get past. ------------------ "Nobody has measured, not even poets, how much the heart can hold" ~Zelda Fitzgerald |

I agree. The burden of ignorance is both bliss and pain all rolled into one. ------------------ "Glory remains unaware of my neglected dwelling where alone I sing my tearful song which has charms only for me." -Charles Brugnot |

We're too dumb to get it. Next time, instead of just making the words bold, underline them, circle them, and put little stars around them. Just joshing you, master. I've told you before how I admire your work. But, if you're gonna give us a challenge, put some meat in it! |

Thanks for the comments everybody. You want a challenge Balladeer? Try to write something like that with a message in-between the lines... Thanks for commenting... ------------------ I fell in love and kept on falling |
