Men have made me what I am Thanks to my father, I was a daughter, not a son. My brother made me a sister, two kids instead of one. I grew up and fell in love wanted to share my life So I married David, and he made me his wife. Our family was rather small, we thought we needed another. I gave birth to Philip and he made me a mother. I still wasn't happy, I had one more need to meet, And so I had Nicholas, he made me complete. |

I absolutely love this one Tara...it's totally something different than I expected when I saw the title. Very good work and nicely stated ------------------ "In the depths of winter, I finally learned that there was in me an invincible summer" ~Albert Camus |

This was excellent. I agree with hoot. Title thew you off...don't consider changing it cause it made it perfect. It made me smile thru and thru. ------------------ Julie ------------------------- ..."to thine own self be true." >William Shakespeare |

I agree with this piece to a degree. 'Tis sad that you find your identity in others. ------------------ Now and forever my heart hears ~one voice~. DreamEvil© |

I must agree...I did not expect the message of the poem to be what it was by the title. It is a great poem though... Echo |

Dream, then you miss the point entirely. How can any of us know who we truly are without acknowledging what others have given to us? I am merely thanking the important men in my life for their contribution. To everyone else, thank you for your comments. ------------------ Work like you don't need the money, love like it's never going to hurt, dance like nobody's watching. |

RG, lol, feel free to reply as often as you'd like. I love having a fan! Tyson, a gem? Wow! You are invited to read over all my work, if you're giving out compliments like that. Isis, I think that's the first time the word "perfect" has been used to describe my poetry. Thank you! ------------------ Work like you don't need the money, love like it's never going to hurt, dance like nobody's watching. Visit my poetry website: www.geocities.com/Paris/Musee/9954/ |
