It's time I write again, I've written about beauty, I've written of sin; to watch my poetry falling to the very end; losing touch of memebers captured. Is it the rhythm, not much rhyme, or the topics don't hold the test of time? No one's heart I seem to rapture; Lonely is all I find... no one to mention-"I like your stuff," "mind if I print," or a final thought... "I missed your last line." I'm not one to starve attention, but after five, unpoetic times- I beg for your mention. I think we all at some point or another, try to find that touch to annoint, the comment of a brother. Some get their fill of replies often twice. I try to be fair, for those going uphill. I see sometimes we tend to forget about the ones quiet and sublime; or new ones trying with all their will, but they're lost with regret. My final plea is that we don't ignore, those who may need more. It's fun to be popular, but silent ones soon get bored. This isn't my best work, my goal is to bring into the open... this little quirk. So...have consideration, even when it's not an honorable mention. Remember to return the favor of those reading your paper. ------------------ Julie ------------------------- ..."to thine own self be true." >William Shakespeare |

Julie I can't talk in rhyme cause my words won't match but my eyes seek words that cause my mind to ponder on what might be the thoughts of a poet deep inside... No rhyme or reason here but I will admit to seeking those with little or no response oops and that doesn't mean that's why I answered you...Have I dug myself a hole? Julie, I know what you mean, the sheer volume of poems posted here overwhelms me, I post from work and cannot dedicate the time I would like to the forum. I just cannot read them all, but, I understand your plea, and have a hug for you, and a keep trying, if you can write 5 poems, you can write another, this one is good! |

Totally understanding where your coming from here. I also have many that fall to the cellar of Passions, and I wonder if I should just give up. My passion for writing, and reading others works of art keeps me here. I only end up with a few that catch people's fancy, so I just go on reading, and responding to others. I find it easier to read from the bottom up, for their are many lost poems buried deep. Keep the faith this place just moves fast. |

It's been said before but....I'll repeat myself (cause I'm like that..*g*) How about the facility to show that you've been read, even if not replied to?.. Moderators that are lurking or reading or both, what are your thoughts? May keep a poet from falling by the wayside....ok, I'll shut up now...LOL HUGS ------------------ You give but little when you give of your possessions. Julie...If it's any consulation. I read every work posted here and try to reply to at least half of what I read, more often closer to 60-75%. This at times can be a very time comsuming feat. I try to offer advice where I can, and praise where it is deserved. If I miss replying to something along the way, it is simply due to the overwhelming amounts of postings on this site. I myself would like to see people limited to one poetry posting a day. Sometimes there are 5 or 6 poems posted in one day by one writer...you get 4 or 5 doing that and the numbers of poems to reply to increase dramatically and people get lost in the shuffle. Ah, now I'll step down off the soap box. Nicely written poem, it makes people stop and think. iloveit: Thank you for your support. Thanks for the hug...ahhh feel much better. ----------- BrightLight: Keeping the faith...I recognize there are many of us out there not getting much feedback. I've visited other websites where you had an option to send a full reply or just click an option on how they felt about it...ie. excellent, good, fair, etc. Wouldn't that be an idea for the moderators. ----- RainbowGirl: You are one of my fans I know... and I yours. Bless your heart, I know you do a heck of a job sharing your thoughts, not just for me but many others. ------------------ Julie ------------------------- ..."to thine own self be true." >William Shakespeare |

hoot: you are another that is really dedicated reader. My feeling is that possibly some improvements could be made on the part of moderators upgrading to help us help each other. Maybe I need to take this to the Alley. My plea was not just for myself but for any that has been affected, and to bring it to the attention of others that don't realize. ------------------ Julie ------------------------- ..."to thine own self be true." >William Shakespeare |

I am experiencing the same thing, Julie. I am not the most popular one here either-some poets get 40+ responses to their works, others are luck to get 4. I am so burned out-there is a lot to live up to. ------------------ *Elizabeth* "Dwelt a maid belov'd and cherish'd by high and low, But with autumn leaf she perish'd, long time ago..." Julie: keep your faith up, sometimes I have had posts that haven't been replied to for several days, or have only gotten 1, or 2 responses. Please do not be discouraged, I have had some that have gotten 10, or 15. There are just so many posts. what you have posted does hit home, at times I still feel disappointment when I post, and there are no replies....... |

Ahh worry not, you are being read. Though the replies may be limited somewhat, because of the volume, know that people are reading your work. There are many silent voices behind the screen that see your work, though they can't reply. And as to recieving good responses on only a few: If you feel that it is important to recieve responses, then consider trying to keep in the spirits of the ones that recieve responses. I however, think that is a poor substitute, for poring out your words... even if no one responds... |

Julie. As a moderator, I try to read a little bit of everything. If I see a poem with no response, I'll read that one first. No one should fell that their work is not worthy to be here...we are all poets.. no matter how many replies we get...I've had several poem fall dead to the bottom with few replies....I would recommend that you post only one or two a day...don't do them together...reply to the responses..build a friendship with the other poets...go to the bottom of the heap and bring back a poem that sits there unread..(this happened with the first forum...same thing!)...I would like to see this discussion kept up in the Alley so I will go there and post some more thoughts. I like the way you got your subject across poetically...it's easier to write about love and sadness and moons and stars..but to write about real life like this is harder..you did a good job. So I'll formulate my response further for the Alley....it will take me a bit of time to get there and get it done...Thanks for bringing up the subject!!!!! ![]() |

THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR REPLIES AND SUPPORT. I guess I am surprised it got this much attention and the night is still young. -------- Poet deVine: A very special thanks to you and I am glad to see this subject is one that people take seriously. My personal feeling is we all count and we should all benefit. I want to make it clear I am not critizing any one or playing a pity party, just looking for some answers that would help us all. ---- Futher comments may want to be posted in the Alley. Check it out...if this hit home for you. ------------------ Julie ------------------------- ..."to thine own self be true." >William Shakespeare |

Julie, I understand what you're feeling. I felt the same way, and sometimes still do. The posts come in at such a rapid rate, it's impossible to keep up with them. Don't lose heart! Just keep trying! ((((HUGS)))) |

Sometimes, the poem gets buried so that even the moderators cannot readily see it to know if it has comments or not. I have experienced the same, and I think we all have. It is a matter of summoning that common courtesy we need for this place. |

Hey Guys and Gals! Ron is a PRINCE! He opened a "Suggestion Box" for us. Check it out...A place to SAY WHAT YOU THINK will make this a better place. Nothing goes un-noticed, he has already put into action one of the ideas already. ------------------ Julie ------------------------- ..."to thine own self be true." >William Shakespeare |
