I made a LONG reply to all of the people individually who had wished me a happy birthday. Apparently I used more smileys than allowed. When I went to post, I got the "too many smileys" error and was directed to go back and edit the reply....problem is, when you go back, the entire entry is deleted!!! NUTS!!!! |

Yes... thats happend to me and others too... Its very frustrating to lose a long post... especially when I type so left handed slow I too have wondered why the post isnt still there to edit smileys out? Now, I do my thank you replies on a blank email and cut and copy them to the reply screen, so that I dont lose them...and if I use smileys I break my longer replys up into several posts so as to not go over the limit. hope the bug swatter likes moths |

Hmmm ! I remember having that happen only once ... and seems to me that I did something wrong, like not using my browser BACK BUTTON as instructed ? I just did this three times with too many smiliecons ... got this - "We cannot process your posting, because you have exceeded the maximum number of images allowed per post. The current maximum is 5. This limitation has become necessary because too many people were using excessive images, resulting in very slow load times for everyone. Thanks for understanding. Please user your Back button and edit your post to include fewer images." and by using the BACK BUTTON ... my reply was still intact. Just took out a smiliecon or two and it worked just fine. Balladeer ... you are just ALL SMILES~ *Huglets* ~*Me*~ ~*The pen of the poet never runs out of ink, as long as we breathe.*~ |

When you use your Back Button, where does the suddenly reappearing data come from? Hint -- it comes up much too quickly to be coming from a web server. How the Back Button works on your computer will depend on the browser you use, the browser version, and how you have it configured to cache web pages. Still, even though I obviously have no control over your browsers, this is MY bug, not yours. Forcing someone to use the Back Button is sloppy programming, the result of adding our image limitations on after the posting screens were designed. The system "should" return you directly to the posting screen with an appropriate error message, and with all your data intact. Shoulda, woulda, coulda. Our next version of the software will do better. |

Poor birthday boy! I've taken to copying my posts before I make any moves. I grew weary of the re-entry process. Hope the rest of your b'day was an excellent adventure. If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane, I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again. |

Hey Ron --- I don't mean to prod but this new software sounds like it's got lots of neat little features... when can we expect to see it? Faith is a fine invention |

Sorry to shoot holes in your test theory Marge---but using the back button didnt matter...I got the same instructions but after using the back button as told to--the post was still lost...and it has happend on other sites too that use similar forum reply screens---so each of our browsers/computers may react differently. Thanks for the info Ron. |
