What Kind of President Daschle, Killefer, Geitner...these three all have something in common. They all failed to pay their taxes and were exposed as such after being considered for a job in President Obama's Cabinet. These three also share something not in common. Daschle and Killefer failed to get accepted for a position in President Obama's Cabinet, as it should be, however Geitner was hired by the President to be Treasury Secretary in spite of his failure to pay his taxes when they were due. That's a doggone shame. What kind of President would consider candidates of such a low character to fill key White House position, that failed to pay their taxes when due? "It no wonder that Democrats don't mind raising taxes, as they seem to have a habit of not paying them anyway...and thats a crying shame." JamesLee 10February 2009 |

Not sure what this is doing in Prose. It should perhaps be united with it's siblings: Balladeer's pearls in The Alley. Or wait! Ohhh I get it now - it's a fantasy? |

I think it's fine right where it is and moonbeam, it is a reality that he has chosen not such great folks. ![]() |

Not a problem SEA. I merely wondered why James posted here in Prose something that is so obviously a political commentary with very little merit or distinction as prose. It's difficult to respond to the piece as a literary effort without simply pointing out its flatness, its dubious use of ellipses and its faulty punctuation. Those features, together with the strength and dogmatic tone of the content or message, made me think that in fact that the beauty or construction of the prose, qua prose, wasn't uppermost in James's head when he posted this, but simply an outpouring of feelings about your President. As far as the message is concerned and your comment, I've already made my views known in the Alley on this point. But for what it's worth I think that those who would find fault with Obama even if he was Jesus Christ are revelling in the idea that, because he, arguably, made a few errors (which he had the humility and strength of character to apologise for) amongst hundreds of good decisions, he must be an incompetent idiot - oh, and by the way, we told you so before the election. for sure, I understand. ![]() I did not vote for Obama. But honestly, I am really really hopeful that things will change and really be different. I'm excited for the possibilites. He is VERY new to all this, and is going to make mistakes. I never enjoy someone else making mistakes, cause I sure don't like it when it's me lol. I think he has more mistakes to make and learning along the way. People need to give him the chance to do the things he said he would. I know I am. ![]() |
