That’s when I realized I was not alone in the room. I held the painting close to my racing heart, expecting to hear your voice. Turning around, I felt a cool breeze blow gently through the open door, and saw tiny dust swirls move swiftly across the bare floor. The walls seemed to sigh, and change hues. Salty bitter tears welled up in my eyes, as I realized it was just an errant breeze coupled with the sun’s movement behind the eucalyptus trees that had captured my senses. Resigned to truth’s harshness, I put the painting back down and ran out of the house, stumbling over the fallen hollyhocks and dying poppies as I ran through the open gate, and back to reality. You were gone, and would never return. The days and nights bled together, and still I could not shake the memory, the feeling you had walked back through that door, if only in spirit. The presence of your spirit in the abandoned house called out to me, and I knew it was only a matter of time before I would once again slip through the portals of reality to be with you. Tomorrow, I promised. ***** |

OK, so who stars in this movie??? LOL, I rarely go to the theatre or rent movies. This one sounds like a love story theme. |

Midnitesun, I read both parts of this story and it is really good. I could feel her tension when she found the painting and turned it over, feeling he was in the room with her. Enjoyed it much. |
