The night was long and stormy. He could tell that a tornado was coming, that was the weird thing about Mark, he had always been able to sense a storm or a weather change.  He had only been 10 when it happened, but he remembered it vividly. He remembered running in to his mom and dad’s room. His memory went slightly fuzzy at that time. All he had remembered was the creatures. They were so horrible, the creatures, they were each as tall as two men, thin as a twig, they had black clocks with hoods, and old decomposing faces, their eyes were cold and empty. They had grabbed his parents and were taking them away, that’s when Mark took up his father’s sword. He ran at the creatures, his father’s sword held high. The creatures, then, disappeared, his parents with them. He saw the creatures and his parents reappear outside. He heard a scream as his father was taken away and his mother was stabbed in the stomach. Both the creatures were gone, and his mother lay there, dying. He ran out and kneeled at his dying mother’s side. “ Mother.” Mark said. “ Son, you must take Alden, keep him away from the orlercs, he is the chosen one.” His mother said, shoving a bundle in Mark’s hands, inside was a small baby boy. Mark took his little brother and held him to his chest. “Orlercs?” Mark asked; “you mean those creatures?” his mother nodded. Then a creature appeared and put its cloak over Mark’s mother, she and the orlerc disappeared. Mark sat and opened the bundle that contained Alden. The young child looked up at his older brother and smiled, however it did not look like a normal friendly baby smile, it looked strange, sort of evil, Mark tried to put it out of his mind, but then he saw the baby’s eyes, they were grey and distant.

I wrote this as soon as I could type.
