In an upside-down garden

The wind, cool, gentle breeze, softly hitting her face, brushing her hair back, hanging onto it with invisible fingers, pulling it back, letting it go.  Skipping through the field, she wanders and wonders, pondering life's questions and leaving nothing unanswered, no thought unresolved.  She squeezes her pale blue eyes shut, picturing the world in her mind.  Technicolor world, strawberry in her mind.  Beautiful.  The overwhelming world slurps her up and spits her back, as if drinking too-hot coffee, she burns their tastebuds.

Soft, ruby lips part and she sings "Living is easy with eyes closed, misunderstanding all you see.."  Her voice trails off and echoes in the wind, flirting with the air, dancing with the vines of strawberries that surround her.  Laughing, she continues to walk, humming to herself, spinning in circles.

"It's getting hard to be someone but it all works out, it doesn't matter much to me," She twirls, opens her eyes, and with a small, pale hand, she reaches into the vines, parting them gently.  Securing her hand around a strawberry, she pulls it from it's vine, putting to to her lips.  The sweet juice drips down her chin, dropping onto her white shirt, staining it.  She wipes her chin with her fingers, gingerly taking another bite, savoring every second.

"Let me take you down, cause I'm going to strawberry fields. Nothing is real, and nothing to get hung about. Strawberry fields forever," the words flow from her mouth between bites of the strawberry.  Wind licking at her hair, she licks the juice from her hand, devouring the strawberry right down to the leaf.   Licking her fingers, she walks on, the grass ticking her barefeet with every step.

"Letcause I'm going to strawberry fields. Nothing is real and nothing to get hung about. Strawberry fields forever," voice hushed to a whisper, tears stream down her cheeks, pace quickening, she begins to run, eyes closed, stumbling over long tufts of grass.

" Living is easy with eyes closed, misunderstanding all you see, it's getting hard to be someone, but it all works out. It doesn't matter much to me," she stumbles, tripping, falling, rolling down the hill and back into the fields.

"Let me take you down, cause I'm going to strawberry fields.  Nothing is real and nothing to get hung about. Strawberry fields forever," She whispers, "Let me take you down, cause I'm going to strawberry fields. Nothing is real and nothing to get hung about. Strawberry fields forever."  Red lips close, pale blue eyes seal shut, resting in the strawberry fields.

I love this. Its amazing. I love how the same thought makes her depressed, when only moments before she was happy. I'm a little like that sometimes. Beautiful write. Thank you.

the way you integrated the lyrics is cool. the description is quite good, its seems like poetic prose.

it hit me though, the sadness at the loss of a world and the desire to simply close ones eyes and return; perhaps the greatest tragedy of literature.
