Behold the majestic clipper ship with sails bleached white by the sun of a seven seas. Mark well how her proud bow tames the tempest waves.
If only her tall masts could tell the sights they have known. Full sail and away from the grip of land she is the queen of the swelling sea. Bound for strange ports eched by the hand of history. Steeped in the air of adventure. She has set tall off the reefs of a thousand islands. Moved with the calm gait of a high born lady into intriging ports.
She has felt the admiring gaze of the people on the shore as the pilot guided her past the rocks like a lord escorts a lady to her seat. She has felt the blood of her men as they struggled and died for her honor. She rocked them silently in her bosom till the were sent to their rest beneath the sea. She sails no more and as night falls her crew returns.
Ghostly feet tread her decks and roam her bare riggings. Old captains long since past away come again and talk to the ship they once loved.

Yes ... and aboard the ghostly planks of your commissioned ship ... you have now gathered with the captains for that long-awaited chat~

Bless your voyage~

What a haunting write. Reminds me of a few gallant ships I knew that sailed out of Seattle years ago.

As was Virgil to The Pilgrim Dante, you lead and teach with your pen strokes and left me with a breath of fresh air.  I am impressed deeply.
