Red folders are those that are new posts and/or ones that you have not read yet.

Yellow folders indicate that you've popped in and out of the site and have previously seen the folder.  Another way to know if you've read the poem is that the color of the caption should change from a dark blue to a light blue [unless you clear your history.]

Gray folders indicate that the poet has come back to review the responses, and has left a message of "thanks" or otherwise comment on the remarks.

Clear as mud?

Maybe, your always in and out of Passions.  You have to remember, the red means it has a new reply after the last time you visited PIP.

I've been wondering this for awhile too.   One more Question.  What does it mean when the yellow folder keeps opening and closing?
Just wondering.

Ah that's a first post for a user, Aaron.

A folder that opens and shuts is always the author's first post with Passions... If it's yellow, it means the post was made before your current visit to the site.  If it's red, it means it was made since you signed on for your current visit...

There is a fairly extensive article in the Member's Area/Troubleshooting about cookies (which is what makes those color changes possible), and anyone who finds the color changes don't work for them should probably read it.

But, in a nutshell, the number one reason for "all yellow folders" is the result of starting your session in the wrong place.

If you have bookmarked a specific forum, instead of coming in our "front" door, your cookies are NOT getting stamped with a date and time and the system has no idea what you have and have not seen.

Also, because cookies only work within a single domain, your folders will not work properly if you start your session in anything that has a www in front of it. The domain www.piptalk.com  is NOT the same as piptalk.com and should NOT be used by anyone.

There are ONLY two safe pages to bookmark for the start of your session:

/main/Ultimate.cgi

Ok I'm sorry to be a pain but I see people have responded to my question because the number of posts shown outside the topic has gone up, but when I click on the topic the last one that shows up is from acire

"Maybe, your always in and out of Passions.  You have to remember, the red means it has a new reply after the last time you visited PIP."

Maybe someone would be so kind as to email me the other responses?  Thnx and later.

Gee, guess what?

There's an article in Member's Area / Troubleshooting for that one, too.
