Hey Sheri. . .

there are a number of reasons that this can happen. . . because they've happened to me. . .

sometimes, the links don't work because you didn't type them in right. . .

and then there's always the matter of if you have permission to link to the image that you're trying to use. . .

have you tried to link to another version of the graphic from another site?  sometimes that works. . .

hope that this helps. . .

Irie I wrote you a mail on how to get your picture in. When you open my 'edit' you'll probably can see what's written before the http and behind the jpg.
If not, look at your mail.

I looked in our edit, looked allright to me.
Maybe it's the place you took it from.

I once added a picture here from my own website. Later on I decided to rename all pics in my webside and so I lost it too, because the URL it was referring to didn't match anymore.

That's the only thing I can think of right now. I'm not a crack at those things.

No Sharon, it isn't my site. Is that what the problem is?
I'm trying something else to see if it works.

Every time a graphic or photo is displayed, it emanates from another location - either from within the site itself or from another site.  Whoever owns the site you're tapping into may have access to their graphics/images blocked to other sites.  They are responsible for paying for the bandwidth used on their sites, and they may not be willing to have other sites tap in... because it costs them each time it happens.  If you're using your own site and pay your own bandwidth, it should work without a problem... If you're using someone else's, perhaps not...

Hi Irie,

Maybe that's it.

Try the photogallery on my website (shown below) because it's no problem taking pictures from there. Just to try if it will work.

Your computer can read its own hard drive, and the picture might appear for you - but only you....

For others to see your graphic, it has to be located somewhere on an internet site.  We can't access your personal hard drive.  You have to upload your graphic to a cyber site and then use that cyber address in your text.

Hello
Thanks for the reply. I have a site called PhotoIsland. I download pictures into a album. Would something like that work?

Ok I have a question then.  My site is an msn site like Titia's and it would not allow me to use pictures from there?  Again, is this maybe the copyright deal on certain prints?  I did everything right.
Titia?  Can I have those instructs too please?  Thank you . . .

Okay as you know I use graphics a lot, but the problem is - if you are taking photos from another site, quite likely they will disappear on you in a day.

If you have storage at Webshots, MSN, CARE TWO, Lycos, or almost any site now, they will NOT let you link to them and post them from there.  There are so few sites that offer free bandwidth for storing photos now.  Sometimes your isp offers you storage and try to see if you can link from there as an option.

You may want to read this article, and it also speaks of a free transloader where you can copy any graphic from the internet to your own website without stealing bandwidth.

However, for now here are a few for you to store your photos and then link to your poem at Pips that are really inexpensive to join. http://www.activewebhosting.com/

Here are places to store your photos:

Here are some linkable gifs, signatures, etc. for you too:

If anyone needs help in uploading them I would be pleased to help you out, so just email me.
