i looked the word up for you not being sure of it myself and this is what I got

Prose(noun) A composition in prose that has some of the qualities of a poem.

A literary medium distinguished from poetry esp. by its greater irregularity and variety of rhythm and its closer correspondence to the patterns of everyday speech
