Ten years ago I read a poem, I thought was titled 'The Crystal Heart.' At the time I did not need it, and today I do. The piece was about giving your heart to someone and all the danger involved and how worth it it is to do. It was about a page long. Can anyone help me to find this poem so I may read it to my beloved? |

Is this it? I have a heart that cares. It beats, flutters as a dove. A heart that gives love. I have a crystal heart, Handle it gently. Careful, Keep it close, never to part. Nor to treat, so, so cruel. A mystical gem of matter, Ringing a vibrant song. Please don't let it shatter, I've had it, oh, oh so long. So now won't you join me? In loves, cares, and kin? There is magic in the sea, And music in the wind! by Harry Layton |

I don't think what you found is i exactly. I also found another version. Again, the one below doesn't capture what is in my memory exactly. I remember it having a happy ending, like giving your crystal heart to someone you love. Thank you for helping me out. I appreciate it. Shattered (by author unknown to me) I hid my fragile heart deep within my soul Vowing never to feel the pain again So dark and empty but without pain Then...there was you You held out your hand I gave you my heart So clear and fragile Carefully repaired and whole I never hesitated Though I was afraid to feel it breaking You hid my heart from all who could harm it I believed in you I thought you knew How fragile the crystal was I thought you knew How many time it had shattered I trusted you Picking up the pieces Shattered once again |
