LOL Ok....I know I'm a Moderator, and am suppose to know everything - - (HA) But my "mom" just became a member, and she mispelled her "name".....and wants to correct it...She is currently MADDavid, and is wanting to be MAEDavid instead....(says she's tired of being MADD!) ![]() |

Does she have another email address? I think she can do it with an address that isn't being currently used - I'm sure we can also delete her administratively and start over.... Yeah Mae.... ![]() |

Nan is essentially right. Unfortunately, there's no easy way to "change" a name in the existing software. Why? Because the name doesn't exist in just one place, but on every post they've ever made. That means the system has to be able to sweep through the 100,000 posts in our system and change every occurance of a name when it finds it. We do need a program to do that. It's on my list. But I don't know how long it will be before I get to it (I have never, incidentally, quite ever finished one of my lists). In the meantime, if your mother would like to simply register under a new name (she only has 25 posts under the old name), I can temporarily change her email address in the old name so it can be reused in the new name. (I feel like I'm stuttering!) Once I do that, no one will be able to contact her through the envelope icon, obviously. Just let me know... ![]() |
