I've tried to upload my pic for an avatar, and every time it says I've been successful, nothing happens...no matter how long I wait. The pic is just me with a hat on (you can't see my eyes) yet , I've seen avatars that are obviously not obvious, too.

The image I give is obviously me, if you knew me. I'll try again?

There's no photo of you waiting for approval. Have you resubmitted? Make sure your picture is in jpg format, and that it doesn't surpass size restrictions. We can resize/reshape photos that are uploaded, but they do have to fit the specifications you find on the upload page.

Also - We really do like to see YOU - So, if you can upload a photo that DOES show your face, we'd be most appreciative.

Thanks Nancy, it said the photo was successful...I'll try later, perhaps with another pic, if I can find one! Although, I'd rather use the one I've already submitted, it's not that obscure.

m I submitting it in the right area...'upload your photo'?

The photo you uploaded had the wrong file extension (.jpe instead of .jpg) and was the wrong size (75 by 100; we can crop or resize downwards, but cannot easily enlarge without serious loss of quality). More importantly, however, the photo is not a picture of you, but rather a picture of your hat and the very tip of your nose. Why should someone on a slow dial-up connection sit through an extra 3-5,000 bytes of their time to look at your hat? What purpose does it serve?

Thanks for the help, but could you please take it down. Now that it's up, I don't see the point either, (it does say in the guidelines why) sorry for wasting your time. I'll get a proper pic taken, one day. At least now I know how to post it! Thanks again.
