I searched google for a poem I knew as a youngster. I remembered most of the lines, so I used different ones in my search to locate this poem. However I could not find it. Instead,I found many immitations of it. I am appalled at how people plagarize most of someone's material and then put their name to it. I saw this so rampant that I'm totally confused as to why this is allowed on the web. Nonetheless, I was able to remember the rest of the poem. 1- Would someone please shed some light on this issue for me? 2- Can someone please help me find this poem and its original author. The poem goes like this... Did you know that God created you for me to love He picked you out from all the rest because he knew I'd love you best I had a heart and it was true but now it's gone from me to you treated right as I have done for you have one and i have none If I go to heaven and you're not there I'll write your name by the golden stairs If you're not there by judgement day I'll know you went the other way I'll give the angels back their wings their golden harps and all their things and just to show my love is true I'll go to hell and be with you |

1. People aren't always honorable. 2. I found over 200 instances of this poem on the net. Some of them take credit and some say "Author unknown." I suggest your doing a google search for an exact phrase to see if you can track down the actual author. |
