I am a culprit at this. One of my ways to express how your poem touched me is to reply in kind. I tag a poetic response on to yours. Here comes the question: Is this poetically correct? Or is a comment to suffice, then go off and write the "brother/sister" poem to the one just read? I for one would enjoy reading someone's response to my work in their poetic verse comment. Or, does it insinuate that the respondee is trying to grab the limelight? [Far from my intention...but when a piece grabs you and takes you off to such a place that the only way to respond is in kind...well, some of you have been there, so...] Help! ------------------ Sunshine Look, then, into thine heart, and write ~~~ Henry Wadsworth Longfellow |

People's feelings about this one will be as diversified as the numbers who respond. I, personally, like it when I see a poetic response - I think its a compliment - and I don't feel it detracts from the poem, but enhances it.... IMHO - for what it's worth... |

I think you said it all for me Nan, thanks. : ) I think it would be a great compliment to get a poetic response. Ooops, I even did it myself once or twice....I hope I didn't hurt anyone's feelings with this. : ) |

I love it and am guilty of doing so myself, when I reply with a poem it means the poem I am replying to really struck and inspired me, in no way should anyone take that as disrepect |

I for one personally love it when someone takes time to respond to one of my verses with a poem, Sunshine. To me it is an honor. ------------------ Michael Anderson When God puts a tear in your eye, He puts a rainbow in your heart. |

I agree with all the above, even though I have had only one person respond in verse to me. I think it is wonderful. |
