~A Lecture to the Heart~ To fall in love is to be punished For a crime we could not help but commit This thing called love, a tempting pleasure We use as we see fit It causes nothing but disaster To those who give in to it's spell It takes your heart in it's hand And makes it go through hell One day you feel so care-free And you're flying above the clouds Then there comes love, to stab you in the back And to bring your whole world down It's such a deciving Master of lies Pretending to care As it thrives on your cries It makes you blind To a lover's flaws So it can snare you in By its candy-coated claws Love is a joke That only Cupid understands It plays with your emotions While pretending to lend a helping hand So beware of love, this wicked crime And who you give your heart to Because in the end, the one who's hurt Is always, always you Don't ask me what I was thinking. Fairy colours, Hey, I loved this poem, it describes what a person goes through after they have been hurt! Down to the last dot, I believe! I know that everyone, well almost everyone, would have to agree with me on that one! I don't know much about form in poetry, and the likes, so I can't say much on that. I'm learning. candy coated claws......I've been there. I think what I like is that I can relate to it, as many people can. To love, you must always take the good with the bad(unfortuneately) |
