This seemed especially relevant considering what tomorrow (Nov. 7th) is... within achromatic rooms we wander, nondescript, foraging miniscule suggestions of hues, tinges... rejoicing upon a blushing discovery, awash with ecstacy at a hint of the vivid, we covet florid tones, suck them lifeless, until the last bloom drops, and the glow fades into the pallid. mia |

Nov 7th ..duh? ... Guy Fawkes night was Nov 5th, that's when all the fireworks were, Nov 7th ?? ~thinks~ nope ....no good... gimme a clue maybe mia.... anyway the colour poem was interesting it conveys the idea of a mass (of people) lost in monochrome lives suddenly presented with a bloom of bright candy cotton - colourful, sweet, fun for a minute but not long lasting, ephemeral even. they feast on the event and then again fade into obscurity.. no doubt however you'll tell me this is about a rose propagator!? ... as for any suggestion for changes, right now i haven't any - i liked it.. Glad you liked this, PT, and you don't fool me one iota. I know that England is still very interested in what goes on here in the States...and you have the most sensationalistic press of any country, I've heard. mia ...got to be somewhere better than in the middle...~Wallflowers |

Can someone please tell me what the 7th is? Sigh...later... after talking to, and being ridiculed by Mr Know It All P (heh) I now know. My excuse? Try living in a library for three weeks studying for exams...when it is summer outside too mope...(the punishment of the southern hemisphere) So, yes, I was allowed not to know - really!!! Hmmm... doing the critiquing thing. Finally! Yay! (I never did answer the q you asked about my poem Excoriate sorry...(bit busy lately) - if you are still interested I will mail you..) 'within achromatic rooms we wander, nondescript' Like this a lot Mia... 'foraging miniscule suggestions of hues, tinges...' Hmmm...I actually prefer 'tinges, hues' as it flows better. Note: You might find out I am obssessed with flow - P can tell you that...however, it can be a flaw of mine as it can make me rather narrowminded sometimes. When (not if) I start to ramble about flow scrutinise what I say carefully lol... I can see the peek of extended metaphor here with the blushing and bloom's...in some absurd way, prolly because it is late, I was reminded of Wilde's story 'The Nightengale and the Rose' No, I don't know why either..heh. And then there are the sexual undertones - ecstacy...falling into the pallid with the speed of a big O.. etc perhaps a little too obvious, but it works well enough. Your use of colour is very good...you don't actually refer to anything specific yet it comes through clearly - one of those works which allows a reader to provide their own vision. Coolies! I like this - it makes me ask why we do covet so many things - only to watch them fade away. KNOWING they are going to fade away. 'Ah humanity' K says philosophically...
