darkness i thought i was blind. darkness all round, or that i had stumbled into a cavern. panic sets in - heart begins racing breathing jerkily eyes opening wide to let in the light, but there is none. i begin to run - screaming into that blackness. no sense of direction, of belonging - total chaos. my mind gone ballistic, all hope evaporated. terrified of the void, yet drawn into it's very core. stumbling - arms outstretched - reaching for anything. all the while screaming - but only in my head. i fall to my knees - face in my hands. more fearful than i've ever been. then, i feel a breath upon my cheek - caressing my hair. looking up and catching the brilliant blanket of jewels, there all along as it settles softly upon me. ~celtic rose - 2000~ ghost ranch - abiquiu, new mexico |
