here in are we, boxed words the only nourishment, the word torture, dripping...dripping, innocent am I, yet scarred by shock, hoarse from screams, nails peeled back exposing epithelium, angry...raw, throbbing pain, yet I did not tell, only proclaimed... innocent am I. feeling along perimeters, no weak links, not a singular opening, to be found. I don't belong here, innocent am I. can't feed upon words of turpitude... nor grovel, nor watch vermin hunting crumbs... my dreams escape, break through, beyond the walls silently, as I beat upon the box, declaring again and again... innocent am I.
