Or perhaps consolations are in order -- it's all how you look at it really. Nevertheless, I hope that everyone joins me in my profound sense of happiness now that we have two new moderators to kick around, er, help make this place stronger for poetry and conversations about poetry.

Jim,
Congratulations, Mr. Moderator, sir. *salute*
Please don't be as tough on us as Brad is, I don't know if we could take it.

Trevor,
Congratulations to you, also, and please take note of my request to Jim.

Happy Moderating, you two, and don't let this elite honor go to your heads,

Thank you all for the condolences....errrr....I mean congratulations. As a new co-emporer I will demand that a tribute of 1 000 000 canadian dollars...or 5 dollars US, be paid annually into my Swiss Bank account. I promise not to abuse my new found power at all....

Too many exclamation marks at the end of your comments....you must leave this place by sundown.

Warmhrt:

You used both Jim's and Brad's name in a sentence before mine....pack your bags and take it on the heels sister!

J.L:

Jerome:

Just cause your now a moderator as well don't think you'll be getting any favouritisms here....in fact I think ya put one to many round faces on your response....two years in the penalty box...no soup for you...scadadle!

PETE:

What a question to ask....No you can't still post here....so scram!

But seriously, thank you all for the kind words and I'll do my best to help this forum any way I can. Take care everyone and thanks again,

Hey everyone:

I am now officially accepting condolences for having to work with both The Ogre and the ever soft-spoken Trevour.

Thanks for the congrats.

Oh yeah, one more thing needs to be done here.

So Jimbo received his reward,
And the rest of the Forum all roared:
“Well done to the lad
He ain’t half done bad
Now quality stuff is assured!?”

And Trevor’s new title’s OK’ed,
A man of importance he’s made,
His poems were flash,
Could have made him hard cash,
In his new job he’ll never get paid ...

Brad: The Forum is no aristocracy,
Is it henceforth to be mediocrity?
We’ll lose our best poet,
And also our know-it-
all, to the maw of bureaucracy.

Hello,

I think your stinkment should've read more like: (notice the proper use of a colon...boy does that sound like a joke in the makings or what???)

"Surrounded in a corona of Divine light and with ethereal fire burning in His eyes, Moderator Jim gestures authoritatively and reverses the havoc recently caused by the the evil Moderator Trevour"

Surrounded in Corona empties of divine binges and with ethereal fire burning in his kidneys and bladder, Moderator Jim gestures intoxicated.....blah...blah blah. I think ya get my point   If ya think I'm causing havoc now....wait till ya see me sink my teeth in

Take care Jim,

Jim,

Did you just totally ignore my reply?   You don't want to associate with the peons any longer?   Remember, you used to be one of us. If you stay in touch with the people, you stand less chance of harm when we decide it's time for a revolution.

Trevour

PS, do ya think we should escort Kristine to the door?   She seems to be a little feisty and could cause a mutiny (the name Kristine sounds a lot like Mr. Christian...well sorta if ya use your imagination)...but then again she does sound like she has a little Marxism in her...and we know how you love theories on communism

You'll do anything to keep this at the top, won't you Trevour?  The only way Canada will ever stand a chance of annexing the U.S. is if Prohibition is reinstated.  PA a parking lot?  Too much trouble to plow with all this snow we've been having.

Agree with escorting revolutionary Kristine out before she becomes too much of a nuisance.  And Rebel, if you are an anarchist why are you congratulating guys who have just been appointed to positions of authority?    The beret's will be a nice touch too, I think.

Why would you say I'll say anything to keep this at the top...I'd never do such a thing   Nope I'd never keep posting without having something "real" to say....nope, not me....I'm a responsible moderator...well responsible'ish   As far as annexing the US goes....we will see in a few years when fresh water becomes the hot commodity....it's not by chance that we control 2/3 of the world's fresh water supply  ....I think it's around two thirds....could be more...MMMMWWWWHHAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!! Then Canada will dominate!!!! NO more having to be polite to the tourists....no more taking orders from the States...We will crush! CRush! CRUSHHHHH!!!! EVERYONE WILL BE CORRECTLY SAYING ABOWT AND SPEAKING FRENCH....OR AT LEAST FORCED TO TRY AND SPEAK FRENCH AND YOUR BUDWISER CANS WILL HAVE TO READ ON ONE SIDE "LE BUDWISEUR"!!!!!!!!: ....oh yeah and I guess we'll just turn PA into a skating rink in the winter and basketball and tennis courts in the summer

As for your response to Rebel "And Rebel, if you are an anarchist why are you congratulating guys who have just been appointed to positions of authority?"

That's a true hardliner anarchist....so against rules that he even goes against the rules of having to dislike authoritative (sp?) positions

Ya know, Trevor (notice, the lack of the "u"), I think you've actually taken a step down.  I mean, you used to have people worship you and a second in command who wore a wookie suit (remember, Brad? I do. *grins*).  But I'll throw out my beret and stand up for you moderators.  You could use at least one ally or so.

RYAN:

Fear not faithful one, the High Priest "Wookie" is still kicking around and active in his religous duties....Though these infidels challenge Trevorism and all its more intelligent, more attractive, more cunning, more crafty and better dressed followers, it is hardly a reflection of its numbers, Trevorism has grown by 25 percent in the last half year....and any business...errrr....I mean religion would be proud to have such figures   "Chainmail and Tequila for Everyone!" is Trevorisms new slogan....or at least I hope it will be...gotta run it by the High Priest Brad first. So worry not my little lamb....I've also hired some muscle to help "convert" these heathens. So now that it's day 234 in the year 27 AB (after birth...ohh that sounded nasty  ) your religious mission on this holy holiday (It is "I Found the Worm at the Bottom of the Bottle Day"), is to write a poem entitled "Fiesty Girl" and post it here at CA for all to be crooned by its greatness....it better be good or I'll send the "Inquisitor" after ya   Now put your Ewok suit back on before I smite thee!!!

The scariest thing about that last comment is that it is actually a holiday today (lunar new year). You know, maybe I'm just a traditionalist, conservative kind of guy, maybe I'm just not a fun loving guy (and why don't I expect to get any arguments on that one) but I remember a time ('with flowers in their headsets') when people around here actually wrote and talked about, oh, I don't know, -- POETRY!!!!!!

Actually what you meant Trevor was poertree .

Now lets see how did this thread start Brad ahh yes .. I see now .....

"Or perhaps consolations are in order -- it's all how you look at it really. Nevertheless, I hope that everyone joins me in my profound sense of happiness now that we have two new moderators to kick around, er, help make this place stronger for poetry and conversations about poetry."

Nice piece there Brad but as Jim will surely agree this tends to read more like prose in its present format.  Not that it is of course. One can see the clever internal rhyme and hidden meter .. perhaps a little re-formatting:

Or
perhaps consolations are in order
it's all how you look at it really.

Nevertheless,
I hope that everyone joins me.

In my profound sense of happiness
now that we have two
                     new
                         moderators
                                    to kick

around, er.

HELP !!

Make this place stronger
for poetry
and con
versations
about

                              poetry.

I'm sure you can see how just a small amount of thought put into presentation so enhances the piece.  Loved the insightful look at "reality" in the first stanza btw

Philip
