I well recall that summer- I had just turned seventeen… A longing to be “going”- I just had to spread my wings. My books had fed the yearning- To go, to see, to do… To see the barren deserts, And the oceans wide and blue. To meet and love the princess- Inhabiting my dreams… I sadly found that romance- Is rarely like it seems. But “go", I did, and “see”? I saw… No matter where one looks- The life found in reality… Is never like the books. Now looking back on sixty plus- And wondering where they went- Just be a realist, my friend… With your life, be content. |

What the hell - it's all past now, you cannot change it, so live out it's destiny and enjoy the things to come, much of them controlled by you. j. |

Loved this one, John. Books make people think they want an adventure. Life tends to be anything but that. Be content, aye... we live and learn. |
