In Matthew Twenty-seven, verse number fifty-four- I saw a truth this morning, I had never seen before. Of the Centurion’s conversion I have long time been aware, But I never once considered the others standing there. The Scripture’s inspiration had somewhat more to say- Instead of merely saying “he”, the word it used was “they”. “They?” How many others believed on Him that day? The Scriptures do not tell us, but, still, they plainly say- “They feared, and they feared greatly”, but know that wisdom starts- According to the Proverbs, with fear in human hearts. The fear of God Almighty, in Heaven up above… Will lead one to repentance, revealing His great love. Remember, friend, the Scriptures, make it so very plain… That every single soul on earth, must needs be born again. So, are You? Born again, I mean. Does Christ dwell in your heart? If not, you’d better make amends, ere from life you depart. |

"The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom" psalm 111:10. I believe the Hebrew word for fear here is different from the one in the Matthew verse you mention. More along the lines of awe or respect...even so, one of my favorite verses. |
