In silence
fingers fall
with mind bent inward.
Focus.
She hears his voice there
saying the exact things
she needs.
Oh
it's there.
the perfect sound of it
whispering broken things
taking her will.
She gives it
and floats along the waves.
ink black mind
not even knowing
that her growling mouth is open wider.
Very unpretty
but honest in it's placement.
She stays
frozen by raw chants from his lips
wandering in sensation,
soul numb,
safe place,
can't see the blood
of atonement from here
just the raspy dark
and how lovely things are
with emotion on the shore.

"I know this love will tear me to pieces
I know his hands will dig up my secrets"

Wow! Hard to grasp the intricacies of this with one reading. A sense of dark, and yet a fulfillment. May be too deep for this cowboy, but enjoyable nonetheless.

probably way out there . . . BUT!

Sounds sort of like being in bed where the night things happen and all the negatives are being torn out being replaced by longed for positives . . . and in the end - in the end,
hope that finally . . . a prayer that - Yes.

Gunslinger,

You are correct about the dark and fulfillment. I think you've grasped it well. Thank you for reading.

J,

Not way out there at all.

It's definitely about those things and definitely about that prayer. *sighs*

Thank you.

I love this.  Disconnecting from the world. . .

Very well done. . .

Certainly, a poem with up and down emotions well depicted. I like the kind of honesty that's depicted, kind of interesting for sure.
Thought provoking right!

Very mysterious when this happens. The way the mind wanders into our own little worlds. Loved it!

There are no safe places, Jenn.  A few of us even seem to find it more comforting as the danger level rises... all sense of logic be damned.  Makes for a fun, if sometimes soul-sucking ride though.

ethome,

Thank you. I'm glad the ups and downs came through well. I try for raw and honest in everything that I write.

Forlorn Angel,

Thank you. There is definitely mystery in the way we can totally block out everything else. It has its advantages and disadvantages.

Michael,

Thank you.  You may be right about the safe places. Even disconnecting from the world takes a certain amount of connection with a darkness. The appeal of danger depends on the day.

Paul,

Thank you. I wish you wouldn't have "left it at that" though. I've been curious about the rest of it since I read your comment back when I first posted this.
