You know? I was sitting, thinking-
I do that time to time.
And could not help but wonder-
What happened to my rhyme?

I once could write for hours-
On topics, not a few-
Many I experienced-
Some fantasy… it’s true.

But the well of inspiration-
Becomes merely a drip-
And not the flowing river-
From which I used to sip.

To write, or maintain silence-
A quandary does pose-
Quite like a night bereft of stars-
No fragrance from a rose.

So? What to do, ah, what to write?
A puzzle to my mind-
Mayhap I’ll put my pen away-
Till subject I can find.

John...If you would like to join Me and Michaels little club you can. What one or both of us will do is send you a 3-4 word phrase and you have to write a poem using that phrase somewhere in your poem and post it here as a challenge poem from who ever sent you the phrase...Paul

Indeed, this was pretty deep for a writer's block poem. Scary place for a poet to find themselves.

Be glad to have you sharing phrases with us...Paul has a way or stirring things out of me I didn't know where there. maybe we jump start that ol pen of yours too. Whatever you do, do not put that pen away!

I don't do rhyming and structure well, but I did stop writing for years. I've only been writing again the last few years, I think. Enjoyed. Thanks for letting me ramble.
