The Journey Begins By Paul Wilson Spin the wheel of fate watch it go round and round Time in a bottle saved for a rainy day Where will it take me… the future never to be found? Dark clouds gather hoping the Sun comes out to play Life filled with uncertainty… mistakes I’m bound to make To touch the nightmare that wakes me in a cold sweat To visit that dark place full of nothing but heartache To probe deep into my mind remove the demons you can’t forget To touch what none may feel my journey just begun The thought of going back to a better time and place Spin the wheel of fate the past can never be undone Hands of clock moving forward the future we must embrace Who will guide me on this journey through the years? Visitors from within my mind appear without invite Who will be there to hold me… help face my fears The past I want to forget looking back in hindsight Was I born at the wrong time and place? Parts of a jig saw puzzle never fitting the mold Not quite sure I belong to the human race Always afraid to step over the threshold Too young to remember the good times How I wish they would return Too old to forget the bad times In my mind they forever burn Why am I here? For your pleasure or mine To touch what none may feel To travel back in time… what will I find? Not knowing if it’s make believe or real I try to forget all the pain you left in my mind Your memory comes back to me now and then Move on I tell myself time after time Tomorrow may be the day I finally win Copy Righted 2/28/2021 ~~To share my poems with you is to share my heart with you~~ Paul |

I don't believe we ever forget those who have left our lives...but the bittersweet memories remain always...with loves lost, and loved ones gone from our lives forever, they will always, remain within our hearts to visit those sweet memories.... beautifully written. |

I felt your pain all through this, Paul. Wasn't sure what you'd do with his phrase, but you hit the nail on the head with it. Moved me deeply, left me at a loss for words. |
