Lord, let me be, if given choice- A man, like John, a simple voice… To point the multitudes to Thee- And let no glory fall on me. And let my tongue of clay employ- The gospel call, with wondrous joy… To see the plight of fallen men- And strive to see them “born again”. Lord, let me go, at Thy command- And faithfully, to make a stand… And if in battle, I should fall- Lord Jesus, be my All in All. Lord, let me see, through eye of faith- The path in life, You’d have me take… E’en in the times I go alone- May my eyes rest upon Thy throne. When comes the time that I depart- Through storms and strife, Lord, keep my heart… That when I stand before Thy throne- I’ll hear, “Well done, child, welcome home.” |

Even not considering the message, the poem reads well and ranks up there as one of your better efforts. Enjoyed. |
