Warning Traded in fertility for fuel fossil fuel elements of the kindling kind carbon cellar sources past and present troves, gone to ashes anyways; a meteor shower greets focused observer scans midnight sky. Focused robin finds no worm scans a tossed turf observed view wastes away wasting, wanting more, lush soils traded for carbon fuels, cracked soils make further statements uncaring statements no lush soil, no worm, no robin. Lone holstered steed in stall looks up, way up to clear liquid sky streaks what will be the day? when lawns speak of thirst urban vibes conclude a disillusionment of falling stars, waxed wick nears end as manicured lawn feels no wormy host needle grass strips already knew no further robin visit no worm,no blade of grass, no steed. an empty stall door creaking in a hot wind. No further worm work to expose a memory of an orange breasted songbird Another feathered livelihood gone Hurrah for the uncaring Inheriting a scorched domain And Ice-less poles. A meteor shower greets the uncaring eye, no one to return the stare no lush soil, no worm,no robin, no steed an empty stall an empty cupboard wasting estates, their owners, wanting yet more black gold. |
