Waiting

Is your voice the same in heaven?
Do the acoustics resound?
Do your eyes lay the melody—
Sing of love without a sound?
Do the angels dance to your whims,
The way I long to still?
Does the air breathe reassurance?
Is it okay, there, to feel?

Do the stars have to seek shelter,
In light of your heart’s shine?
Could they even hold a candle
To the day that it was mine?
Oh I wonder of the wonder
Found in learning to release,
(When it turns out being alone
Is the price of priceless peace).

When you let go of all you fear,
On towards your date with dust—
All you believe you must hold near,
For what more could you trust?
I shall sing for you tomorrow
As this waiting game is played,
But I will not dance with Sorrow,
And I will not leave dismayed.

The illusion you made
You could stop and take a breath
Feel the damages weight fade
In the silence”

Enjoyed this poetic expression of a charming, hopeful 'wait' for the return of a love interest, or someone you hold dear.

A tender heart is hard to find. I
always enjoy your work, Michael.

Michael, your writing has always spoken to me … this is a heartfelt peace, and as always, so beautifully written.

Best wishes and hugs to you,
Kit
