I saw a boy the other day
Near to the point of tears-
The sun was down and nearly dark
And I could sense his fears.

I said, "son, what is the matter"?
The child looked up at me
And he said, "My ball is missing
Could you help me find it please"?

We searched until we found it-
A smile lit up his face-
And off he ran toward his home
His sorrow was erased...

Then as I got into my car-
In the rearview I did see-
Another sad and lonely boy
A'looking back at me.

Could you help me find my pleasure?
Which once I did possess-
And almost without measure
Instead of bitterness-

Could you help me find my hope again?
My smile and ready laugh
The joy which spread to every one
Who happed to cross my path.

Could you help me find my innocence
For years now it's been gone-
Could you help me find those things I lost
The list goes on and on.

This kind of reflection never fails to move me. Life is a long lonely road upon which much that was pure is lost and each person fights to find their more innocent inner child and bring a part of them back somehow. Thanks for sharing.
