Another long lost one from more than a decade ago. Despite the fact this rhymes too much it still largely works for me. ____________ Devil Girl Burnout the light that shines on her tonight and I'm chained to the bar, stringing my guitar to the tune of my favorite Big Star tune is the devil playing dice in the corner like you played with my heart, devil girl is god reigning in the light of the sun like you rained on my parade, evil one Oh I know I'll never get away from you, no oh but still you know, I just love you so Shotgun love left me like a wingless dove crawling and bleeding for all I'm needing from your vicious stare, capture me there and the vampires have sucked in the world like you threw me over, sweet devil girl are the witches brewing love potion #9 like you loved me till I lost my mind Oh I know I'll never get over you, no no oh but still you know, I just need you so Ooh, you know you could be good ah, but I know that ain't what you'll do Blister of a dark sister, how I'll miss her when she pulls the shade down, I'm hell bound she cut me into grooves, oh how she moves and the devil is playing dice with my world like you played with my heart, red devil girl and god's reigning in the warmth of the sun but you'll burn me in your fires, you evil one Oh I know I know I can't get away, no oh but still I know, always I'll love you so ooh, you know you coulda been good ah, but that ain't you, it ain't what you do is it, devil girl “The problem with the world is that everyone is a few drinks behind” —Humphrey Bogart |
