(I wrote this ages ago about someone and then left it by the wayside. I’m giving it a second look. It still works, I guess. She’s still 1,500 miles from me.) ____________ No Tears (1500 Miles Away) You're fifteen hundred miles away the finger traced distance on the map display my emotional getaway a million miles from me so close, so far from where you ought to be you should be with me Ooh I've no tears today baby nothing welling around my eyes but sunrays maybe and if a sudden rain falls down I won't make a sound You're fifteen hundred miles away, away but a breath I can hear across the echo delay my heartbroken hideaway A million smiles from here these arms too short to try to hold you near I wish you were here Ooh I've no smiles tonight baby nothing on my face when you're gone away lady and if the moon never comes 'round I won't ever be found I won't die from the lack of touch yeah I don't know a thing but I baby know this much I won't hide when the heart cracks yeah I will watch this film backwards to see you coming back no I don't wanna see you leaving me behind it's a lie to pacify the child swimming in the back of my mind yeah I don't wanna awake to find... You're fifteen hundred miles away clear across the frozen skin of lost highways my overdose underway very few miles from harm I find I can't crawl back into closed-off arms and drown in your charm Ooh I've no heart to trade baby nothing pounding beneath my bones to fade with me but if your love ever truly astounds I won't ever come down Oh yeah fifteen hundred miles away from this freezing Colorado dawning today but I can feel phantom fingernails of you digging into me to obtain clues all that I am and mean to be if you can see I won't die from your lack of touch but I know that you could mean so very much to my lonesome existence don't sit on this emotional fence c'mon bridge the distance yeah I wanna awake to find your eyes meeting mine... fifteen hundred miles away will someday be cut down to you with me and me with you and I hope it will stay forever that way “I want to do with you what spring does with the cherry trees.” —Pablo Neruda |

soul drifter...Really like the cadence in this. Sounds like a poem but also a song of longing for a lost love so glad you brought this back from the dungeon. Thanks for sharing...Paul ~~To share my poems with you is to share my heart with you~~ |

Souls, Missed reading you, Really like this, & for some reason it makes me think of a fav song of mine"Mercy" Brett Young..have no idea why..not about the distance thing, guess it's just a feeling. Sky~ |
