It was one of those snow-blind days where the sun reached in through a window frosted like fresh meringue, throwing a sliver of light across her mottled pond of steaming hot cocoa Most of her days were blind...especially when she’s looking at him The handle of her porcelain cup curved in a luxuriant sort of way, beech-brown and shiny, a bit smudged with a distorted fingerprint he bequeathed before he disappeared behind the camera lens to capture the legacy of her lips as they swirled about in the sculpted foam of her cocoa “I wish I could take a photo without a camera”, she said, “so I could look into this indulgent cup and see your polished face in the simmering surface smiling up at me” She always knew how to make him feel like the luckiest boy since Narcissus fell into himself to plant the first flower... ...just bein' Bluesy |

Aww, thank you, Miss Lori. I can't say much for being "well-read", but there were days gone by when I spent a lot of time reading. I've only recently switched gears some in the hopes of writing more interesting poetry. I'm happy to know you approve and I very much appreciate your reading and commenting.
