I saw her once, appearing crushed and withered, yet so beautiful, lovely as crumpled satin She was lying curled...sleeping, wrapped in the fabric of her gently fraying dreams Her heart may have been burning in embers of spent passion, speaking what I feel from the warmth of her body Hair like that of dampened pampas grass, softly colored and wistfully blown in the early morning air As morning’s light is slowly delivered, she stirs awake to feel my presence, as I hold her now in my safekeeping Then, I saw a teardrop gently fall upon her cheek, washing away a stain so carelessly left by a jealous quarter moon ...one should never sleep alone ...just bein' Bluesy |
