Fair to middlin' of nowhere

0 posted 2018-01-10 02:59 PM

Just saying the word
tightens the muscles in my neck.
It is probably nothing.
A little spot on the side of my nose
that didn’t seem quite right.

I got 4 shots to deaden it
and it still hurt!
Felt like I got stung by a bee
all day long!
Whaa, whaa, whaa.

Not to mention
the big beautiful bandage
I’m sporting on the ole snoz
for a few days.

I may find out Friday
or the first of next week
what the results are.
Until then I will preoccupy my mind
with the ugliness that hides
beneath the bandage.
The Dr. scooped out a
wicked wee bit.

Far as I’m concerned,
it is most likely nothing.
The reason I say that
Is because when I go to the Dr.
with one complaint or another,
the Dr. always seems to say
everything is normal.
It is just one of those things
you just have to live with.
Diet and exercise is all you need.

I will not say the C word
until it is an official diagnosis.
I know more than I want to
about chemo and radiation.
My brain refuses to go there.
I will not worry about it
until I know there is something
to worry about.
There will always be time later
to worry.  LGR©1/10/18

...and you said your life was "boring"!

I'm in the bleachers with Miss Pinky. You were wise to take notice and not do the 'Cover Girl' thing, Miss Lori, and just cover it up. With your new 'do', you might have thought about doing that. Let's have a new Pip picture with the 'do' and the mummy-wrapped schnozz!

Like you said, it is nothing. It will be nothing.

Bluesy,
I got home and took off the band-aid and surveyed the damage up close. Yikes! It's a canyon! No wonder that sucker hurt. Looks nasty. it's 1/2 x 1/4, right in the bottom outside crease of my right nostril. They told me to keep Vaseline on it so, I'm not going to put a band-aid back on it. I may gross some people out, but, oh well..

About that Pic...I'll get my daughter to help me when I'm having a good hair day.
Speaking of hair, mine is doing nicely. ~L

Jerry,
From your mouth to God's ears...er...ah.. from your fingers to God's eyes.  Well no, can't say it like that...it sounds like a 3 Stooges stunt. Well you get my drift. Thank you very much for your positive thinking.

Thanks LeeJ, I'm still thinking it's going to be nothing more than the discomfort and ugliness of the biopsy. I know the power of being positive because I have seen how hard it is on you when you aren't...my husband is still struggling. ~L

Lori, if it does come in positive, you want it remove via Mohs Surgery

Rather than explaining it, I'll let you look it up on the internet.

I had a pretty good size cancerous knot remove from the side of my nose and all the
dermatologist  & my GP said have it removed with Mohs surgery as it was the results were generally fantastic.

Mines been gone several years now without any sign of returning.  Give you an example of how it worked.  Other than the deadening shots (and those weren't tough to take) no pain whatsoever and very little after the surgery during the healing process.

Any question, ask me. Via email if you wish.
If by chance you ask and I don't answer in a day or two, let me know via this post and I'll be sure to give you a working email, although the one associated with PIP should be good.

Hang in there, Jimmy

Thanks Jimmy!
I've convinced myself it is benign because the nurse called me. When Dennis had cancer the Dr. called him. But I'll keep this in mind. You are a gem! ~L
