Sometimes I just like to sit and ponder Just close my eyes and let my thoughts wander Shut out the present and visit the past Where young innocence makes all good things last Here in the safe haven of memory Nothing or no one can ever hurt me I run through the meadow without a care I'm wild and free with the wind through my hair My happiness knows not one boundary As my eyes behold all lifes mystery I sing with the bluebirds~hum with the bees Race rabbits for fun and climb old oak trees Pick dandelions and make a bouquet Stop to chase butterflies along the way Splash my little bare piggies in the stream As I contentedly sit and day~dream Sometimes I just like to sit and ponder Just close my eyes and let my thoughts wander © Poet In Pink https://youtu.be/3f0kxTqnWyg |

I no sooner read your first two lines, Miss Pinky, when I had already decided to quote them. But as I read, I became more engaged with you and your "wandering thoughts" and realized that the first two lines weren't going to be enough, that I would have to quote the entire poem. I elected to tell you this rather than merely quoting any one part. I, too think such thoughts Miss Pinky, but I'm not wearing a dress when I do.  Lovely poetry, lovely image and lovely tune...makes one ~sigh~. ...just bein' Bluesy |
