Huddled by a street sign A lonely beggar stands As he watches people Carry out lifes demands A face weathered and sad His clothes wrinkled and torn He clutches his knapsack His appearance forlorn Around him people rush For it "Tis the season" But for this ole' lost soul Christmas has no reason The city comes alive With colored lights and glee All of the little shops Don a lit Christmas tree Reflected in his eyes Are dreams that have gone bad Memories that haunt him Of the life he once had Carolers stand singing Their merry tunes of hope While this pain~stricken man Tries to find strength to cope Bags are over~flowing With holiday good cheer No one seems to notice The beggars "silent~tear" © Poet In Pink https://youtu.be/W3qkiHuslDQ |

Far more truth than fiction in your skillfully penned poetry, Miss Pinky. The music did all it could to exceed the image of the soul you wrote of. but as the sad notes joined together in their effort, they failed. I've seen the reality of the lost and forlorn...methinks you have as well. So happy you're here, Miss Pinky. Stick around. ![]() ...just bein' Bluesy |

Pinkyblues, Well Missy, you write the blues in pink just as well as you do everything else! This is so touching! And too true. Good job sweetie! ~L |
