One step forward and two steps back Hard to see light within this black Full fledged pain begins its attack Hard to break free when hope you lack Though I try as hard as I might Happiness just seems to take flight On gossamer wings in to night Quickly it fades out of my sight Tears well up and run down my face Of my heart there is not a trace Just a longing for his embrace A hollow void I can't erase With clipped wings its hard to fly free I am caged within misery Lonely and locked in memory Chained to sadness without a key How do I make it through each day Nothings working try as I may Thoughts of us in my mind replay My heart is withering away I know that I must move ahead But darkness is the road I tread My spirit cries for it is dead I'm barely hanging by a thread One step forward and two steps back Hard to see light within this black Full fledged pain begins to attack Hard to break free when hope you lack © Poet In Pink |

Pinkheart, I have to agree your blues are a hard sell when you are all bubbles and sunshine. I'm dubious (what a great word, dubious) too. Of course the poem is distinctly you. And as always well done.  ~L |
